Talkin’ Rock with Skillet’s John Cooper and Megaforce Records Founder Jonny Z
On this episode it’s two John’s for the price of one!
John Cooper from Skillet is so easy to talk to and has lots to say. His band is out supporting their latest effort “Victorious”. The band is so powerful to see live. We talk about the album and the writing process, tour and touring with his kids and bass players he loves. He’s the face of the band as we discuss, the WWE using their songs, his favorite live band, why everyone should tour and more.
Jon Zazula is up next. His new book is called Heavy Tales: The Metal, The Music, The Madness. It’s available Tuesday, October 29, is the detailed, never-before-told story of how Jonny Z founded legendary New Jersey-based label Megaforce Records with his wife, Marsha, and built a dynasty unmatched by others – forever changing the scope of heavy metal. We talk about the bands and times when thrash was born.
