Here we go. Welcome to the “Nights With Geno” podcast. I have to admit I was always one of those radio elitists who thought podcasting was for people who couldn’t make it on the radio. I’ve finally come around. Hearing great podcasts like “Something To Wrestle with Bruce Prichard” or the clips from the Toucher and Rich show out of Boston helped me get it. So here goes.
What will be on the podcast? If you follow me on social media, then you know my life isn’t just country music. I’m a junk foodie and sports loving wiseass. Sometimes I rant about Live PD. If you’re weird like me and enjoy my dorky sense of humor, you’ll dig my podcast.
Longer podcasts like this one I’m going to call “The Other 59 Minutes,” which is a big of a dig at my own radio show since I only usually get to talk 12 seconds at a time, 5 times an hour. So you only hear me 1 minute out of 60 on a normal night. So this will be the other 59 minutes.
For my first podcast, I’m going to upload a bunch of my backstage chats with QYK artists who came by our broadcast at the ACM Awards in Las Vegas. But I figure for my first full length podcast, I’ll give you some of the behind-the-scenes stuff that maybe isn’t fit for the radio show.
In this episode, hear about my night at the bar with Jerrod Niemann talking about Tone Loc, my nightmare landing in Vegas, getting Darius Rucker to do the Ric Flair “Wooooo!”, why Chris Janson is becoming one of my favorite people on the planet, let alone country music, and yes my infamous blunder in choice of words in an interview with Luke Bryan.
