It’s gameday. And I’m all worked up. I’m ready for the puck to drop, but I’m ready to throw a puck at a few people. A few by the way. Most who’ve read my take on the Brad Marchand situation get it. But one Facebook comment set me off this morning.
The photo you see is one I took when I worked for the team I grew up watching eliminated the Tampa Bay Lightning 6 years ago. The Boston Bruins that year went on to win the Stanley Cup and the kid inside me who grew up watching disappointments year after year was elated. When I first moved to Florida, I clung to my Bruins allegiance. I was a typical transplant who’d wear a Boston jersey to any Florida game I went to. But as I got to know this Lightning team and see how well it’s run from top to bottom, the pendulum starting to swing and last year was probably the first where the Bolts became my priority.
