Walt Disney World invited us to check out “Villains After Hours” – it’s their new late night event at Magic Kingdom. They’re doing this for the next couple months on select nights. There’s a stage show, you can ride attractions like “Space Moutain” in complete darkness and most importantly, there’s free popcorn, Coke products and Mickey Mouse ice cream bars.
The view as you arrive! There's something super cool about theme parks at midnight.
With my trusty sidekick and Disney World expert Rachel (she runs myQ105.com), we were off!
As we arrived, the weather was cloudy but perfect... felt about 10 degrees cooler than Tampa! First stop was a quick ride through Pirates of the Caribbean. Followed by the Little Mermaid. Why? Short lines. Geno hates lines.
The stage show is impressive with lots of fire, stunts and special effects. The light show using the castle as a backdrop was intense.
Nobody does fireworks like Disney.
The "Not So Poison Apple Cupcake" can be found at the Starbucks on Main Street USA. Good stuff! It's enormous. And completely good for you. I mean it's got apple. That's a fruit. Psh. Leave me alone.
TONS of frosting. The apple candy chips were the best part.
The show is worth seeing. Don't skip it. Ride lines weren't that long so you won't miss out on much ride time if you watch the show.
Riding Space Mountain in complete darkness is an experience you won't forget!
Let's go! This would be the last time we'd be able to see a thing for about 3 minutes! It was pitch black inside Space Mountain!
As you'd imagine there's lots of Villains After Hours for Disney merch collectors.
Walt and Mickey in the dark!
Did someone say FREE!? Yes! At Villains After Hours, Coca Cola products (including bottled water), popcorn and Mickey Mouse ice cream bars are available at kiosks throughout Magic Kingdom. Here I am keepin' it classy as always.
Magnificent fire-breathing Maleficent parade... of course I snapped the pic a second before the fire came bursting out.
This creature accompanied Maleficent. Kind of looks like a cast member from "The Masked Singer" if ya ask me.
Can't miss the fireworks!
