It's called the Museum of Illusions. And once we decided to go there, I made everyone in my family only refer to it as the Museum of Illllllluuuuuuusions. And every time we spoke the word "illusions," we had to do a very dramatic magician gesture with our hands. Gotta build up the excitement. Make things fun for the kids!
My family and I traveled to North Carolina last month. We spent one night in downtown Charlotte. And then we drove up to the mountains the next day. When we arrived in Charlotte, I wanted to find an activity to do that would entertain my children, and it needed to be something we couldn't do in Tampa. When the concierge told us about the Museum of Illusions, I said to myself, "This is it." And it was perfect because we wanted to grab lunch in downtown and didn't want an activity that would take the entire day. You can thoroughly enjoy the Museum of Illusions in 45 minutes to an hour and a half.
The Museum is exactly as it sounds. It's filled with a variety of optical illusions. And it's set up in a way where you can take pictures of yourself participating in the illusions. Check out all of the cool pictures below.

The flight from Tampa to Charlotte is quick.

It's only and hour and fifty minutes.
Am I really dangling from a building with my kids?

Are they that out of control? Nope. It's an ILLUSION.
How many of me are there?

This illusion has mirrors set up and makes it look like there are too many of you to count.
My girls LOVED this exhibit because they were like, "Haha! We're taller than you and Daddy."

But then we switched sides and Mommy and Daddy were like giants!
I've got to be honest. Though you see a big smile on my face, the Vortex Tunnel was not my fave.

I felt whoozy and dizzy once I got out of there. But my kids LOVED it.
This exhibit had to be one of our favorites.

Oh, what a feelin! When you're dancin' on the ceiling.
Head on a platter?

This looks scary, but don't fret. It's just the magic of an ILLUSION!
This exhibit intrigued both my daughters.

They each had to get a turn with their head on the platter.
Something feels a little off.

Maybe because I'm taking a selfie in the Tilted Room in the Museum of Illusions in Charlotte.
Ahhhhh...I just can't get enough of these funny photos.

We are barely hanging on!!
