Rod Stewart plays Amalie Arena this September!

Starting today, you can grab a ticket for select upcoming concerts at the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre, Amalie Arena and a few other Tampa Bay venues for $25. And no, there are none of those gotcha fees we all hate. $25 is what you pay. I wouldn’t expect to get a front row seat for that price, but $25 to see a concert in 2022 is a pretty sweet deal regardless.

Here are the shows I’d personally suggest, broken down by era. All of these bands below are listed on the Live Nation page advertising the ticket deal. The actual shows offered for $25 could change when the sale goes live at 10am today (May 4). The $25 ticket offer expires May 10 or, of course, if tickets get snatched up sooner.

  • The 70s: The Doobie Brothers

Still sounding great after all these years. I got to see the band at a country music festival in Fort Lauderdale about 5 years ago. The vocals are as strong as ever.

  • The 70s: Santana

I have to be honest. Opening act Earth, Wind and Fire is why I’d go to this show. I appreciate Carlos Santana’s talent, but the one time I saw him live, I have to admit I almost nodded off a few times.  EWF has so many great Q105 Saturday Night Dance Party jams. The $25 seats deal is for ACTUAL seats, not just spots out on the lawn. Sections 11 through 17 are a part of the offer.

  • The 70s, 80s and 90s: Rod Stewart with Cheap Trick

OK, it’s tough to assign a decade to Rod Stewart. The guy hasn’t stopped making hits since the 70s.  I’ve seen him a half dozen times and he always brings it. The show is at Amalie Arena. The tickets that are part of this deal are up in the 300 level.

  • The 80s: Tears For Fears

The group just put out their first album in 17 years. A lot of us ’80s kids never got to see them live during their prime so I might have to prioritize this one. The tickets that are under $25 include seats under the roof so you’re not stuck out on the lawn!

  • The 80s: REO Speedwagon with Styx

So many Q105 hits… Can’t Fight This Feeling, Keep On Loving You, Take It On the Run, and of course Styx’s classics like Babe and Come Sail Away. Just as with some of the other shows on this list at the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre, seats for $25 can be found in the actual seats under the roof – not just out on the lawn.

  • The 90s: The Backstreet Boys

Maybe a good last minute Mother’s Day gift? Led by Tampa Bay’s own and Bucs super fan Nick Carter, the 90s boyband is back together to play all those hits you voted for on TRL back in the day. The BSB show is listed on the $25 deal page, but at the moment of writing this piece, prices started at $44 so they might have already sold out of the $25 tickets.

  • The 90s: Alice in Chains with Bush

More into the man bands than boy bands? AIC will rock. And Bush still puts on a great show.

  • The 90s: Hanson

Another boy band? Yup! Believe it or not, the Mmm Bop’ers are pretty great live. I did a fundraiser with the guys about 15 years ago at a children’s hospital in Boston and they turned a lot of the doctors and nurses in their 40s and 50s into big fans with their rock and soul influences. The show happens at Jannus Live on 7/17/22.

  • The 90s: Rob Zombie

Seeing a Rob Zombie show’s been on my concert bucket list for years. You know who’s also a Zombie fan? Saturday Night Dance Party favorite Debbie Deb!

  • The 2000s: Luke Bryan

Even if you’re not a big country fan, you’ll have fun at a Luke concert. He mixes it up for pop and rock fans with a pretty wide variety in his set list.

  • The 2000s: Zac Brown Band

“Colder Weather” and “Chicken Fried” are two of my favorite songs from back in my days on Q105’s sister station WQYK.
