10 Cities You Can Fly To From Tampa To See Elton John For Under $100

Elton John‘s Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour makes its final (or is it?) stop in Tampa Sunday night. Just like the last time Elton said this will be the last show, tickets are not cheap. The “get in” price for Sunday night’s concert at Amalie Arena in Tampa is around $300.

My advice: if it’s not vital to see the show, head down to Amalie Sunday night and start looking at those prices in the last hour before showtime. Tickets were $300 all week the last time Elton came to Tampa but on the day of the show, I was able to grab some for about $100 each when ticket scalpers started to panic. That’s not to say the same thing will happen Sunday night – but it could.

Another idea? Make a vacation out of it! If you’re planning a summer getaway, Elton’s tour goes through November. There are a lot of European dates, but lots of U.S. ones too. Been planning to see family in Boston? Never seen the Hollywood sign in person? Up for a road trip to Atlanta? You can actually save money by skipping the Tampa concert and traveling to see Elton. Say you’re going with 4 people. That’s about $1200. All of the cities below currently have Elton tickets priced at under $100. The math might work out to make a vacation out of your concert.

Here are 10 cities where you can see Elton John for $100 or less on reseller websites as of this morning (April 22, 2022)!

• Los Angeles

  This is the best bet to me. Go see the Hollywood sign. Have a burger at In-n-Out and see the first of Elton’s 3 final performances. After these 3 shows in LA at Dodger Stadium, Elton has no tour plans. At least yet. We know there’s always a chance Elton will put off that retirement. But tickets for that first night of three concerts are selling for $97.

• Boston

  Nothing about Boston is cheap.  So even though you’ll save money on your Elton John tickets, hotels can be crazy expensive in Boston.  But if you can stay with family, tickets for night 1 of Elton’s 2 shows at Gillette Stadium are going for about $80!  You could wear your Tom Brady Bucs jersey.

• Atlanta

  You could road trip this one!  If you’ve never been to Mercedes-Benz Stadium, it’s stunning.  I got to go to the Super Bowl there a few years ago.  Tickets are just a hair under $100 right now for the September 22 date.

• Charlotte

  Got friends in the Carolinas you’d like to visit?  Make a night of it September 18.  Tickets right now are just barely under $100.

• Santa Clara

  A long flight, but a fun destination.  Santa Clara is near San Francisco and wine country.  Or visit one of my favorite spots – Monterey, California.  Elton’s doing 2 nights at Levi’s Stadium and tickets are about $74 right now.

• Detroit

  Get out of the Tampa heat!  Detroit is one of those big cities where you do get a big bang for your buck.  Delton plays Comerica Park July 18.

• New York City

  Technically the show is in New Jersey, but tickets for night 2 of Elton’s stay in East Rutherford are going for about $74.  You can easily find a direct flight from Tampa to Newark.

• San Antonio

  Dress up as Elton for Halloween.  Elton plays the Alamodome October 29 and tickets are going for about $90.

• Houston

  Houston does not have a problem … with ticket prices starting at $79 for Elton’s show November 4 at Minute Maid Park.

• Phoenix

  Phoenix and Tampa have one big thing in common.  People are moving in droves from around the country.  Tickets for Elton’s November 11 show at Chase Field are going for a measley $77!  That’s something Tampa and Phoenix do not have in common at all.
