The Thanksgiving holiday weekend is one of the busiest travel times of the year.

According to USAToday.com, nearly 25 million seats are scheduled for traveling Thanksgiving week. Then, add in the millions that will travel by car. Much of that travel is for families to get together for the holiday. However, someone had to come up with a list of the ‘best’ cities to go to for Thanksgiving. Wallethub.com did just that.

Here’s what they based their rankings on, with each of the categories being worth a point value: Celebrations & Traditions, Affordability, Safety & Accessibility, Giving Thanks (Charity and volunteer work) and Weather Forecast.

Thanksgiving week is just about two weeks away. If you’re planning on traveling, we hope you’ve made those plans, and possibly those travel reservations! If you’re not sure where you’d want to travel, here are the top 10 cities of the ‘best places to go for Thanksgiving’. Perhaps you’ll enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday watching a parade!

• 10 Miami, FL

  Miami was tied for #1 for number of “Number of Pumpkin Patches per Capita”. Also, Miami was tied for #1 in “Number of Thanksgiving Events per Capita”. Miami ranked #4 “Thanksgiving Celebrations and Traditions”.
