4 Ways To Save With The Back-To-School Tax Holiday

School returns in the second week of August for most Tampa Bay area counties. That’s less than a month away. The state of Florida is doing its part by again offering the back-to-school tax holiday.

School returns in the second week of August for most Tampa Bay area counties. That's less than a month away. The state of Florida is doing its part by again offering the back-to-school tax holiday.

It's the first of two tax holidays for the 2023-2024 school year. Each will be two weeks long. The first will take place Monday, July 24 through Sunday, August 6, 2023. The second will take place Monday, January 1 through Sunday, January 14, 2024.

The school supplies that qualify for the tax holiday are broken down into four categories. Here's the list of what qualifies for the back-to-school tax holiday.

Clothing/Footware/Certain Accessories With A Price Of $100 Or Less Per Item

  • Accessories: Barrettes and bobby pins, Belt buckles, Bow ties Hairnets, bows, clips, and hairbands, Handbags, Neckwear, Ponytail holders, Scarves, Ties, Wallets
