Florida’s largest craft breweries have rebounded big-time after the pandemic initially crippled the industry. In fact, many have already beaten industry analysts who thought it would take until the end of 2023 to exceed pre-pandemic levels.

Florida’s third largest craft brewer, Coppertail Brewing in Tampa has grown by more than 20% after dropping by about that same amount during the pandemic. The largest, Cigar City, is up more than 3%. Cigar City is mostly known for their Jai Lai IPA, but others have grown to love the Florida Man beer.

The Tampa Bay area has seen a huge spike in new breweries over the past couple of years. Some of newer additions have become hidden gems for locals. Be sure to try places like Woven Water Brewing or Hidden Springs Ale Works for their unique takes on infused sours.

Overall, the craft brewing industry growth only rose 8% in 2021. And even less – about 5% last year because of inflation and supply chain issues that knee-capped all areas of industry. However, experts are optimistic about long-term growth in this increasingly popular space.
