If you love nature and farm animals, you've got to check out Old McMicky's Farm. I took my daughter there for a field trip recently.

When I drove up, I had a strange feeling, and I could be mistaken, but I believe I may have gone to Camp Keystone (years and years ago) when I was a kind on a property near old McMicky's Farm.

Either way, it's a lovely spot and kids of all ages will enjoy it.

At the farm, they offer professional tours of the farm with guides. It really is the perfect spot for an educational field trip.

We encountered all kinds of animals and fun things to do. Here is a list of our favorites.

1. Pick Up A Chicken

The helpful guide instructed all of the kids on how to pick up a chicken so as not to startle them. They were so cute and happy once they were able to accomplish the task.

2. Milk A Cow

Some of the kids got a little squeamish, but my daughter went for it and successfully milked the cow.

3. Ride a horse (or pony).

For some of the kids on the excursion, it was their very first time in the saddle. They were all naturals.

4. Go Through a Maze and Down a Slide

Slide

They have a really cool maze that the kids go through, and then they shoot down a steep corkscrew slide.

5. Pet a Goat

The kids all seem to love the goat petting area.
