Summer is here, and while the kids may be thrilled to put another school year behind them, you may be wondering what you can do to provide them with a fun, but still productive summer vacation. Or, you may be wondering what to do with your kids while you're working all day. The answer to both questions may be summer camp! The variety of camps and activities has come a long way since we were children. Tampa Bay Parenting has a list of all of the sports/outdoors camps. We did some research and found 5 fun and educational summer camps in Tampa Bay for 2023.
In addition to providing a fun, safe and nurturing environment, summer camp offers a broad range of benefits you may not have considered. Here are a few:
First and foremost, summer camp activities help reduce screen time. Hopefully, your kids will be so engaged that they wont notice they're no longer staring at their phones. In many cases, they'll be getting exercise instead. One of the greatest benefits of summer camp for kids is the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends...relationships that are built face-to-face.
The majority of summer camps focus on a theme or subject that is of interest to your child, and will explore learning, exploring and personal growth. There are cooking camps, theater camps and sports camps, just to name a few. One of them is bound to intrigue your son or daughter.
Another summer camp benefit is the interaction it provides your child with positive role models - young adult counselors who are enthusiastic and energetically building a sense of community to which your kid will feel a sense of belonging. Finally, summer camp could create some of your child's fondest memories that he or she will carry for life.
Here are some of the best 2023 summer camps in the Tampa Bay area.
