  • #2 'Girls Just Want To Have Fun' by Cyndi Lauper couldn't get past 'Jump' by Van Halen

  • #3 'Waiting For A Girl Like You' by Foreigner found itself stuck behind both 'Physical' by Olivia Newton-John and 'I Can't Go For That' by Hall and Oates

  • #4 'Pour Some Sugar On Me' by Def Leppard couldn't battle past 'Hold On To The Nights' by Richard Marx

  • #5 'Everybody Have Fun Tonight' by Wang Chung was blocked by 'Walk Like an Egyptian' by The Bangles

  • #6 'We Got The Beat' by the Go Go's were also blocked by 'I Love Rock and Roll' by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts

  • #7 'When The Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Going' by Billy Ocean was stuck behind 'How Will I Know' by Whitney Houston

  • #8 'Start Me Up' by The Rolling Stones just couldn't get to the top spot in 1981 because of both 'Arthur's Theme' by Christopher Cross and 'Private Eyes' by Hall and Oates

  • #9 'Ride Like The Wind' by Christopher Cross was kept from the top spot by 'Call Me' by Blondie

  • #10 'Say It Isn't So' by Hall and Oates couldn't get past 'Say Say Say' by Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson... what did you say?

  • Honorable Mention 'Keep Your Hands To Yourself' by the Georgia Satellites was held off by 'Livin' On A Prayer' by Bon Jovi

  • Honorable Mention 'Rosanna' by Toto held off by both 'Don't You Want Me' by Human League and 'Eye of the Tiger' by Survivor
