If you’re looking to get away this summer, there are now more ways than ever to fly to the Caribbean. There are several airlines offering these nonstop Caribbean flights from Tampa International Airport.

Though some are seasonal, it makes the summer of 2023 the season to check out what the Caribbean has to offer. Here’s a list of what cities are available, and which airlines are flying to each destination. Also, Tampa International Airport was again named the best airport by experts.   • Aguadilla, Puerto Rico

    Popular with the surfing crowd, Aguadillia is a watersports haven. Not that any Caribbean destination doesn’t feature watersports, both above and below the surface, but Aguadilla boasts among the most iconic beaches in the Caribbean. You can also visit the ruins of a Spanish-style lighthouse.

  • Cancun, Mexico

    It’s not just for the beaches, which still are among the most popular in Mexico. The resorts and fine dining that overlook the crystal clear Caribbean Sea are also a draw.

  • Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands

    Yes, some of the of the finest beaches and SCUBA diving area available here, but there’s more. Visit the Cayman Turtle Centre to see some of natures creatures, or just rent a bicycle and ride around Grand Cayman. There’s plenty to explore on the three islands of Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman.

  • San Juan, Puerto Rico

    Just a quick flight into the Caribbean, and you don’t need a passport! San Juan boasts old-world charm, besides having attractions for everyone. Museums, marine reserves, parks, convention facilities, and, of course, beaches. Visiting the streets of Old San Juan you’ll see the bright colors of the homes, historic landmarks plus cafes, shops and restaurants. Don’t miss the five-centuries old national historic sites of Castillo San Felipe del Morro, Castillo San Cristobal, San Juan de La Cruz and the City Walls.

  • Marsh Harbour, Abaco Islands, The Bahamas

    Home of the only traffic light on the Bahamas’ Out Islands, it’s also a boater’s paradise. There are marinas to dock your boat, or you can rent one. Marsh Harbor has an active downtown area, but still has a small-town feel.

  • Havana, Cuba

    Why Havana? Relatively recently available to American citizens, Havana’s mysteries can now be explored in their museums and everyday life. Tampa may be the home of the Cuban sandwich, but true Cuban cuisine can be enjoyed as it was created over the years through African and Chinese contributions. Cocktails such as mojito, daiquiris, piña colada, plus Cuban coffee, continue to be part of everyday life on the island.

  • Montego Bay, Jamaica

    In Jamaica, you’ll find no shortage of things to do, from spending time on land playing golf or hiking up a waterfall and ziplining. Back to the beaches, Doctor’s Cove Beach is a family friendly place to enjoy the water. There are also plantations, stables, and no shortage of rum distilleries to explore.

  • Nassau, Bahamas

    The place to celebrate Junkanoo, Bahamian-style food, and some of the most-seen beaches in the world. Nassau has been seen in four James Bond movies (Thunderball, The Spy Who Loved Me, Never Say Never Again and Casino Royale), two Pirates of the Caribbean movies (Dead Man’s Chest and At World’s End), the Beatles Help!, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Splash, Flipper, among others.

  • Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

    Punta Cana featues 30 miles of white sand beaches. This resort area of the Dominican Republic has beaches on both the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. There are resorts for the whole family, plus couples only places for that romantic getaway. Golf, marinas, fine dining and spas are also available for visitors.

  • Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic

    Unlike Punta Cana, Santo Domingo is on the south side of the island of Dominica. The capital city of the Dominican Replublic, Santo Domingo is a thriving metropolis. You can find the old architecture and history mixed in with the modern attractions and some amazing dining opportunities. A site to go caving or to play golf, it’s still a Caribbean destination, so there are plenty of water sports, from diving and snorkling, boating, or simply worshiping some sun on the beach.
