The Tampa Theatre annual Family Favorites movies series returns. This spring series features films for the entire family. Here is this year’s schedule.

Buzz Lightyear & Woody - Toy Story

The movie series begins Sunday, August 2, at Tampa Theatre, 711 N Franklin St. in downtown Tampa. All films in the series are scheduled for 3 p.m.

Tickets are priced at:

  • Adults: $10
  • Kids 3-12: $8
  • Tampa Theatre members: $7

Here’s the schedule for the Tampa Theatre Family Favorites series’ 10th year.

  • Sunday, April 2: Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure (1989) - PG

    Starring Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter title characters, there are some other very familiar names in the cast. Those include George Carlin, Bernie Casey, Jane Wiedlin of The Go-Go’s and Clarence Clemons of E Street Band fame.

  • Sunday, April 9: The NeverEnding Story (1984) - PG

    Young actors Barret Oliver and Noah Hathaway star in this fantasy in which a book takes us on a journey. Along with the help of Falkor, a large but friendly dragon, there’s a quest to save Fantasia. There’s even an appearance by Limahl, former lead singer of Kajagoogoo, who sings the title theme song, “The Neverending Story.”

  • Sunday, April 16: Akeelah and the Bee (2006) PG

    Keke Palmer stars as Akeelah, an 11-year-old who has a chance to win the national spelling bee. With the help of Laurence Fishburne and Angela Bassett, we’ll see just how for she goes.

  • Sunday, April 23: TRON (1982) PG

    Walt Disney Productions presents this 1982 high-tech classic featuring Jeff Bridges. A hacker is sent into a digital world and needs to find a way to escape.

  • Sunday, April 30: Toy Story (1995) G

    Tom Hanks. Tim Allen. Don Rickles. Jim Varney. Wallace Shawn. John Ratzenberger. Annie Potts. Pixar. This can mean only one thing. The first in the “Toy Story” franchise. This movie gave us the song “You Have a Friend in Me.”
