About Rich Fields

At the age of 16, Rich Fields was transplanted from the Cleveland, OH area to Clearwater, FL where he graduated from Clearwater High School. With a thirst for radio broadcasting already in his veins, Rich moved on to attend the University of Florida and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Broadcasting. Fields worked at the college radio station, WRUF all four years he attended UF. His hard work paid off with being the recipient of four Addy Awards for radio production. He also won the Red Barber Award for Broadcasting Excellence… and graduated with an immediate job in radio outside of Denver, CO.

In addition to being on the radio, Rich is a meteorologist (with more than a decade on TV), a game show announcer, an actor and an accomplished show host. He has worked at over 15 different radio stations around the country including a 10-year stint in Los Angeles and another 10-year stint in the Tampa Bay radio market before moving on in 2004 to become Bob Barker’s announcer on The Price Is Right. Rich was awarded “Best Announcer Of The Year” by the Game Show Hall of Fame in 2009 for his work on TPIR, where he would eventually end up working nearly a decade (four seasons with Bob Barker and three seasons with Drew Carey).

Rich Fields is also an Emmy Award winning Meteorologist. Rich is a graduate of Mississippi State’s Broadcast Meteorology Program. Rich completed his meteorology internship with Steve Jerve at WFLA-TV back in 2000 - 2001 and from 2010 - 2016 he was a highly rated night-time weather anchor working at KCBS & KCAL-TV in Los Angeles, CA.

In addition to the awards above, Rich is also the record holder for announcing the most network televised game shows in a single season (7 shows total). In his lifetime, Rich has lent his voice to 9 different TV game shows including The Price is Right, Wheel Of Fortune, Family Feud, Press Your Luck, Let’s Make A Deal, Card Sharks, Match Game, Beat The Clock and the Florida Lottery’s Flamingo Fortune.
