Details on New Bad Company Live Album/DVD
Bad Company has quietly released a new live album and DVD, exclusively via Walmart.
Bad Company Live At Red Rocks was recorded on May 15, 2016 at the amphitheater outside Denver during the group’s tour with Joe Walsh; It features former Black Crowes and current Magpie Salute guitarist Rich Robinson filling in for co-founder Mick Ralphs, who sat out the tour due to health issues.
Ralphs subsequently suffered a stroke during Bad Company’s U.K. tour later in the year, and frontman Paul Rodgers tells us that the grind of being in a rock band can be formidable:
“I don’t know if people l actually know, but it’s very grinding being on the road. You have to be somewhat in shape for it, and you have to be up for it in many, many respects. Some people live on the road; That’s all they do. But…it’s very grinding and he (Ralphs) didn’t want to put himself through it and I kind of understand…We’re all getting older, and it’s one of those things. There are a lot of bands out there that are touring with replaced members — The Who, y’know…Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin talked about going out with Jason (Bonham). There comes a point, y’know, health is an issue. Sometimes people aren’t up to all that.”
