Debbie Harry and Her Wild David Bowie Drug Story
Debbie Harry remains one of rock’s coolest figures of all time, and she has more than enough stories to prove it.
She shared some of those stories and more in her 2019 book Face It: A Memoir. Harry shared one story in particular about hanging out with David Bowie and Iggy Pop.
During this hangout, Bowie and Pop were on the hunt for some cocaine, but unfortunately, their coke connection in New York recently died. Fortunately for them, Harry had a gram of coke a friend gave to her, even though she didn’t care much for the drug.
After fetching the coke, she said Bowie and Pop “sucked it right up in one swoop.” As a kind of “thank you,” Bowie then pulled out his penis for Harry. She noted in the book, ” … David’s size was notorious, and he loved to pull it out with both men and women. It was so funny, adorable and sexy.”
Harry later talk about this incident in an interview with The Sunday Times. She felt it was Bowie’s unique way of thanking her for the cocaine. Harry noted she didn’t touch Bowie’s penis or anything, but did think “very nice.”
She added about the late music icon, ” … It’s too bad you can’t ask him. I guess I was sort of flattered, you know? He’s one of the great men that I admire in the music world, clearly a genius.”
