Bon Jovi Collaborates with Pitbull on ‘It’s My Life’ Remix
Bon Jovi and Pitbull are joining forces on “Now Or Never,” a remix of the 2000 Bon Jovi hit “It’s My Life.”
Per Billboard, “Now Or Never” will be released on November 14, which is the same day at the 25th Annual Latin Grammy Awards. Both Pitbull and Jon Bon Jovi have been confirmed as performers at the award ceremony.
The combo of JBJ and Mr. Worldwide might seem surprising, but as Billboard notes, the two musicians have actually been friends ever since they first met at the 2017 Songwriters Hall of Fame induction ceremony. In fact, Bon Jovi and Pitbull have performed together on a couple recent occasions, including at April’s Hollywood Bowl tribute to Jimmy Buffett.
“It’s My Life” is an incredibly important song in the Bon Jovi catalog. It was the lead single off of their 2000 studio album Crush, which helped introduce the band to a new generation of fans. It peaked at No. 33 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and has been certified triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.
Jon Bon Jovi on Talking Woman From Jumping Off a Bridge
In other news: Jon Bon Jovi talked about his headline-making moment of humanity of convincing a woman not to jump from a bridge in Nashville.
The legendary frontman discussed this incredible incident during a sit-down with Stephen Colbert at the Montclair Film Festival over the weekend. According to the Asbury Park Press, JBJ said, “All I can say is mental health is real and this lady, she was completely coherent, had all of her wits and she had said to me, ‘Look at me, I’m in paper scrubs with no shoes, no phone, no money, nowhere to go, they let me walk out of the hospital.’ She said, ‘I am not suicidal or homicidal.’”
Bon Jovi happened to be filming a music video on the Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge in Nashville when that fateful moment occurred. He noted a woman who was part of the crew filming the music video pointed out the woman clinging to the bridge and about to jump. Bon Jovi also praised all of the local first responders for their work in saving this woman’s life, including a therapist who spoke with the woman on the scene. At the end of it all, Bon Jovi humbly said, “We’d all do the same” and ” … I was just there.”
