Whether you’re new to the area or are only here for a couple weeks, you may be missing out on some underrated Tampa attractions. We saw someone ask what do most tourists miss out on during their stay in Tampa. Some of the replies were just trolls but others inspired us to make this list.

Florida is one of the best travel destinations this summer. With wonderful weather and so many attractions it’s easy to see why. There are the obvious things like going to Clearwater beach, see a show at Amalie Arena, or shopping at International Plaza. But how can you make the most out of your trip in Tampa?

For some of the obvious stuff, like beach trips, we recommend staying away from the more popular ones. Nothing against those locations, but you may find less crowds, lower prices, and just as gorgeous views at these underrated beaches. Instead of going to Clearwater beach, we recommend going to Pass-A-Grille or Maderia Beach. Another attraction we’re leaving off the list but still feel the need to mention is Busch Gardens. Busch Gardens is home to one of the best roller coasters in the country. If you’re into the thrill of high-speed coasters and seeing unique wildlife, don’t miss out on Busch Gardens.

And no, we don’t mean the dance. Shuffle is located in Tampa off Columbus Dr, close to Armature Works. Learn the art of Florida’s favorite “sport.” Shuffle is the first and only shuffleboard bar and restaurant. They feature 2 shuffleboard courts and live music weekly. This is a perfect place to blend in with the locals.

There is so much history to learn in Ybor City. One of the most underrated tourist attractions is J.C. Newman Cigar Company. • Check Out Tampa Riverwalk or Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks

If you’re looking for something to do by the water, we recommend renting a bike, scooter or walking the Tampa Riverwalk. It was recently voted one of the best river walks in the country. You’ll be able to stop in multiple iconic Tampa spots like Columbia and Ulele. If you feel like making the trip to Tarpon Springs, the sponge docks is another great option. You’ll be surrounded by authentic Greek food and home-made goods!
