Boating Guide To Clearwater
If you are a boating enthusiast in the Clearwater area, this may interest you.
This is an aerial photo of Clearwater Beach, Island Estates and the Bay of Clearwater. This is an excellent reference to spot where channels are (and are not). In this photo you can clearly see where spoils have risen and continue to rise creating dangerously low water levels for boaters and wave runners. This is especially true during low tides.
There are some areas in the Bay of Clearwater that even a wave runner cannot traverse during low tide… that’s how shallow it can get. But if you know the boating “Rules Of The Road” and obey all posted signs, you can easily stay out of trouble.
The best boating safety instruction you can get is through the U.S. Coast Guard Auxillary. Classes can be found at this link.
