Dolphins Playing In The Gulf (Video)
Check out these dolphins as they play in the wake of a speed boat.
I shot this video while out on the wave runners in the Gulf of Mexico just off Clearwater Beach. The dolphins are playing in the wake of the Sea Screamer, an over-sized speed boat that is a regular tourist attraction in the area.

Dolphins are VERY playful… and smart too. An article in Dolphin-Way.com says, “Research suggests that bottle-nose dolphins are self-aware, a trait which is considered to be a sign of highly-developed, abstract thinking. One such indicator is that they have been shown to be able to recognize themselves in a mirror, a behavior that until recently has only been recorded in humans and great apes.”
These great creatures are so much fun to watch and are just another reason why we love to live here in the Tampa Bay Area.
