Cue the Our Lady Peace, because “Superman Is Dead.”

Henry Cavill is parting ways with Warner Brothers, according to The Hollywood Reporter, due to scheduling conflicts.

“Warners had been trying to enlist Cavill, who most recently co-starred in Mission: Impossible — Fallout, for a Superman cameo in Shazam!, which stars Zachary Levi and will bow April 5. But contract talks between Cavill’s WME reps and Warners broke down, and the door is now closing on other potential Superman appearances.”

Considering the fact that Superman won’t make an appearance in a stand-alone film for quite some time, it gives the time for the DC Comic Universe to find a new Superman, but it still does cause a shakeup in the event that a ‘Justice League’ sequel will occur.

In this case, I guess this is just like Henry Cavill’s mustache… Gone, but not forgotten.
