Halloween Pet Costumes
Will you be dressing up your pet for Halloween this year?
How much would you be willing to spend for your dog or cat’s Halloween costume?

Gunner Fields as “James Bond”
Animal experts agree that most every pet hates being put into costumes, as it may make them uncomfortable and make them over heat. Most loving pet owners seem to disagree. Especially on Halloween.
According to the National Retail Federation, Americans will spend $480 million dollars on costumes for their pets this year. That’s almost half a billion dollars!
Somehow these poor pets are getting dragged into the madness, like it or not. I’m certain that it has a lot to do with social media, and the desire to post photos of our beloved fur babies across FB, Twitter & Instagram. To back up my theory the NRF says that the amount we spend on pet costumes has doubled since 2010. And of course, this aligns with the huge growth in social media outlets since 2010 as well.
I guess I’m guilty of this too. We love posting pics of our Pug, Gunner. But to be honest, we do the dress up only for the photo op, then relieve him of the uncomfortable dressing.
It’s the least we can do for our little man.
