Man Caught Stealing From K-Mart Days After Buying $8M Island
A Florida man was arrested for stealing from K-Mart just days after buying an $8M private island off the Florida Keys.
Andrew Lippi is accused of stealing $300 worth of merchandise from the Key West K-Mart. Lippi also owns a 12 bedroom compound in the area that MTV rented to film “The Real World” in 2006.
Police say Lippi bought a $150 Keurig coffee maker and returned it the next day for a full refund. K-Mart employees notified loss prevention when they thought the box was not heavy enough and then discovered a basketball in the box instead of the coffee maker. Lippi also bought LED lightbulbs and returned them for a full refund. K-Mart discovered used LED light bulbs in the returned box. Lippi has denied that he switched out an old coffee maker for a new one.
His next court date is April 18th.
