Welcome sign entering the state of Florida southbound from Georgia along Interstate 95.

Americans are fearing more for their safety, as of late.

It seems like every day, we’re reading more and more about carjackings or someone getting pushed onto the tracks in a subway station.

Wallethub recently did a study on safety in each state. Included in this study was a look at COVID-19 related statistics.

Some states feel safer than others, but WalletHub broke it down very specifically, looking at 53 safety indicators, which were then grouped into five different categories.

We’ll show you the Top 5 safest states, but you might be surprised to find out that Florida did not rank high on the list. The Sunshine State ranked particularly low when it came to workplace safety and road safety.

  • 1. Vermont

Vermont is known for its workplace safety and residential safety. Personally and professionally folks feel safe.

  • 2. Maine

    Maine’s roadways are safe.

  • 3. New Hampshire

New Hampshire boasts financial safety for its residents.

  • 4. Utah

Utah came in second for both financial and workplace safety.

  • 5. Hawaii
