New ICE Theme Coming To Gaylord Palms
There is a new ICE theme coming to Gaylord Palms this year. This year’s theme for Gaylord Palms Resort’s longtime attraction, “ICE!” will be centered around the popular holiday movie, “Elf”. Elf is a classic holiday movie starring Will Ferrell as Buddy.
Gaylord Palms ICE is an event that is popular for those staying at the hotel. Giant ice sculptures and scenes will be hand-carved from 2 million pounds of ice and out on display for the event, which will run from Nov. 15 – Jan. 4. Guests will be able to follow Buddy the Elf’s journey from the North Pole to New York City during the event.
Along the way, they’ll encounter favorite characters from the film, including Papa Elf, Mr. Narwhal, Jovie, Walter Hobbs, and of course, Santa Claus. There will be some great photo ops where guests can insert themselves into the storyline, like sitting next to Buddy in the school classroom.
It is obviously very cold in ICE at Gaylord Palms. All guests are provided Gaylord Palms’ signature blue parkas to help keep warm. Even with the provided outerwear, it is best to dress warm for the occasion. It’s 9 degrees inside. Hats and gloves are recommended (they are also available for purchase). Long pants and closed-toe shoes are required.

About The Movie Elf
The movie, “Elf” is centered around Buddy, who is played by Will Ferrell. Buddy was accidentally transported to the North Pole when he was a baby and was raised there by Santa’s elves. He learns that he has a father in New York, so he heads there in search of him. And in typical Will Ferrell fashion, much chaos ensues during his travels.
Elf was released on November 7, 2003. It became a major critical and commercial success, grossing $220 million worldwide against a $33 million budget.
