I have to thank my buddy Marc for finding this place. I guess they've been on Shark Tank and are well known in other cities, but is the first time Cousins Maine Lobster has opened up shop in our area. As a kid who grew up in Maine, I was excited before I even walked through the door. When I saw on their website they have whoopie pies, I was already sold.
... and it IS legit Maine. Trust this Mainer. They are right across from the Hyatt Clearwater Beach. Speaking of the Hyatt, be sure to read the parking tips on the Cousins website. You know how beach parking rates can be. On their site they show you where to park free.

.
A "Red Snapper!" Wow, I haven't seen one of these in years. These are pretty unique to New England... the hot dogs are red. I didn't have room to try one this visit. But next time.

.
It's all about the Lobster Tots. Trust me.

.
OK... for lobster rolls, you have 2 choices: Maine or Connecticut style. By description alone, I'd have gone with the hot buttered (Connecticut) but after trying both, this Maine kid liked the Maine style cold with a light amount of mayo better. Chances are you're going with someone, I'd order one of each and split them.

.
They even had Maine microbrews like Sea Dog and Shipyard.

.
Glad Clearwater is on the map. They do have an Orlando location too, but it's not a full brick and mortar restaurant like ours in Clearwater Beach is.

.
A legit Maine lobster bisque... in Clearwater. Bring it on!

.
I am NOT a clam chowder fan. But I still loved it. Creamy, salty awesomeness.

.
The lobster bisque has little chunks of lobster throughout... this isn't your supermarket style soup.

.
This is SO tough to find. Maine Root sodas are awesome. Wait til you try that ginger brew. This is NOT your typical Ginger Ale. I'm not going to ruin it for you. You'll experience the surprise in your first sip. Bang!

.
Look at those chunks of lobster! This place GETS IT! You don't want to overpower your lobster roll with sauces and seasonings. Let the fresh Maine lobster taste be the focus!

.
Even the cole slaw reminded me of how mom made it back home.

.
The most genius creation ever: LOBSTER TOTS! The cilantro lime topping with pico de gallo... excellent.

.
The Maine style! Pick a few pieces of lobster off the top and savor before you bite into the roll!

.
Hot buttered Connecticut style!

.
The only right way to do a lobster roll is a toasted hot dog bun. Otherwise it's too bread'y.

.
Oh this looks good.

.
The photo may look messy. But trust me, it's HEAVEN. Never would've thought of pairing lobster meat with tater tots. Brilliant.

.
Take a bite into a lobster quesadilla!

.
Lobster quesadillas... cheese lovers rejoice.

.
Such a wonderful sight 1,000 miles away from Maine.

.
Here we go!

.
I'm a traditionalist and like the original chocolate/vanilla Whoopie Pie. But they do have alternate flavors like Red Velvet and Peanut Butter.

.
The moment has arrived... Whoopie Time!

.
A young Whoopie Pie fan!

.
Thank you to Ricardo and Heidi for inviting us to sample the menu! They're going to do really well here.
