It’s more than possible you’ve never even heard of a whoopie pie. You don’t seem them often in Florida. Publix carries them from time to time. But not often. I usually see them on sale for a week and then on clearance the week after. They’re just a big deal here.
Whoopie Pies are pretty much a northeast thing. Growing up in Maine, it was a staple of this fat kid’s diet. Mom would make them and I’d gobble a couple up before they even cooled. They’re not really all that complex. The traditional whoopie pie is a two oversized cookie-shaped chocolate cakes with a white frosting in the middle. But man, there’s a new variation that I’m a HUGE fan of after trying it for the first time tonight.
