It certainly wasn’t the start to the season Rays fans wanted to see, but it was still nice to have baseball back today. Opening Day at Tropicana Field had fans pumped as they walked through the turnstiles for the first time this season. But the good mood didn’t last.

The Tampa Bay Rays kicked off the new season to a packed house at Tropicana Field. Unfortunately the celebratory mood was gone by the end of the day as the Rays were crushed by the Tortonto Blue Jays. The final score was 8-2. The Rays have 161 more games to play and hopefully they’ll be a bit more fun to watch than today’s was.

The Rays and the Jays go back at it at The Trop tomorrow for a 6:50PM start. Saturday the teams will play an afternoon game at 4:10PM. Then the series wraps up Sunday with an earlier 1:40PM first pitch. From there the Rays will host the Rangers at Tropicana Field for a series starting Monday night before heading to Colorado for a series with the Rockies.

Tickets were pricy since it was Opening Day but a lot of those $10 seats remain for Rays games this weekend.
