This is the way to do the 4th!

What a way to do the 4th! Check out these incredible photos taken from high above Manhattan as the fireworks light up the skies over New York City. The New York City 4th of July Fireworks and New Year’s Eve countdown in Times Square are 2 things I always had on my bucket list.

New Year’s Eve in Times Square almost happened. We grabbed a spot to watch at about 6pm back in 2007 but by 7:30pm we were too cold and ended up watching the ball drop from a TGI Fridays around the corner. I did do the New York City 4th of July fireworks a few years ago. But I watched from along the water’s edge. After seeing these photos, that’s clearly not the way to do it. At least I got some good pizza.

Most of these incredible shots were captured from the Summit One Vanderbilt. They have the world’s largest external glass-bottomed elevator so you really get a full unobstructed view of the New York City skyline as you ascend to the top for the views.

They are offering tickets again for this year’s New York City 4th of July fireworks. Your ticket includes live music, food and drinks as you watch from 1100 feet above Madison Avenue. You’ll even get a bag of cotton candy. But like many things in NYC, the price ain’t cheap! A single ticket for the night will cost you $350. Oh plus one of those processing fees we all love. But that’s only $3.
