Mardi Gras is arriving on Wednesday. It is often celebrated with carnivals, Parades, Music and of course beads. These are some ways you can celebrate Mardi Gras around the Tampa Bay area.

Mardi Gras is arriving on Wednesday. It is often celebrated with carnivals, Parades, Music and of course beads. These are some ways you can celebrate Mardi Gras around the Tampa Bay area.

If you can't get to New Orleans to join in with the insane fun that is Mardi Gras, then here are some closer options. Some are fun for the family. Some are a bit more for the adult crowd. Just be sure to celebrate safely. Keep that Uber or Lyft app ready.

Here are some of the places to go to celebrate Mardi Gras for 2023

1 - Busch Gardens Mardi Gras

You can enjoy New Orleans-style treats, Mardi Gras parades, and live music enhanced with Mardi Gras-style entertainment and live music and catch some festival beads during parades.

Included with admission. 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Feb. 17-19, 24-26 and March 3-5. Busch Gardens Tampa, 10165 McKinley Drive, Tampa.

2 - Tibby's Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras Celebration at Tibby's includes King Cakes, specialty menu items, unique cocktails, and will be offered multiple days with different themes. February 17th -19th and 21st. Tibby’s New Orleans Kitchen, 1721 W Brandon Blvd., Brandon. 813-315-8443.

3 - Salty’s Mardi Gras Party

The third annual party will have a crawfish boil, a Louisiana-style menu, live music by Symmetry, drinks, beignets and lots of beads. No cover. 7-11 p.m. Feb. 17. Salty Shamrock Irish Pub, 6186 N U.S. 41, Apollo Beach. 813-938-5282

4 - Dunedin Mardi Gras Festival

Mardi Gras will be done in exciting ways with food, drinks, music and a parade at 7 p.m. featuring over 50 colorful floats. No cover. 1-11 p.m. Feb. 18. Downtown Dunedin, Douglas Avenue and Main Street.

5 - Unrefined Brewery's Crawfish Boil

Unrefined Brewery is the place for Mardi Gras with music, dancing, costumes, beads, beer specials and 750 pounds of live crawfish. No cover. 1-11 p.m. Feb. 18. Unrefined Brewery, 312 E Tarpon Ave., Tarpon Springs. 727-940-4822.

6 - Mardi Gras at the Dunedin Smokehouse

Located at the end of the Parade route enjoy live music by Matt Zitwer (3-6 p.m.) and Tropico Blvd. (8-11 p.m.), beads, food and drink specials. No cover. 1 p.m. Feb. 18. Dunedin Smokehouse, 471 Main St., Dunedin. 727-736-2227.

7 - Mardi Gras at 260First

A party with music by DJ Iconic, 23 feet of beads and $8 Grey Goose, Patron and Bacardi until midnight. 10 p.m.-3 a.m. Feb. 18. 260First, 260 First Ave. N, St. Petersburg. 727-202-4473.

8 - 3 Daughters Brewing Crawfish Boil:

Features live music by T-Bone Hamilton’s Big Easy Revue and Mitch Woods. The all-you-can-eat crawfish boil includes two drinks, a souvenir cup, and beads. $50. 6-9 p.m. Feb. 21. 3 Daughters Brewing, 222 22nd St. S, St. Petersburg. 727-495-6002.

9 - Mardi Gras Music at Bourbon on Main

This location hosts a Florida and New Orleans fusion menu. Music will be provided by Lee Pons brings. No cover. 7-11 p.m. Feb. 21. Bourbon on Main, 6307 Grand Blvd., New Port Richey. 727-645-5801.

10 - Mardi Gras Corey Avenue Block Party

Several of the bars and restaurants along Corey Avenue will be offering food and drink specials. Stop by to listen to live music by Stormbringer. No cover. 7 p.m. February 21st. Located at 300-400 blocks of Corey ave. St Pete Beach.

Bonus Celebration - Mardi Gras: International Flavors of Carnaval

Though not in the Tampa Bay area, we couldn't ignore the celebration at Universal Orlando.

This party includes a parade of spectacular floats, New Orleans flavor foods, live music, concerts on select nights and beads. Included with admission. Daily through April 16. Universal Studios Orlando, 6000 Universal Blvd., Orlando. 407-363-8000.
