Florida is one of the fastest growing states as people continue to relocate here. To which cities are they moving?

Florida cities are growing as Americans to relocate here. To which cities are they moving?

The reasons people move to Florida range from retirement to employment opportunities to fun in the sun. Movebuddha.com did the math and came up with a list of the top destinations for Americans relocating to Florida.

Then, they made some predictions. Based on their findings, here are the top 10 cities where people are moving in 2022.

10 Fort Myers

Other people who made Ft. Myers their home include Thomas Edison, Deion Sanders Harvey Firestone and Henry Ford.

9 Avon Park

Avon Park has a history that begins with its name, after Stratford-upon-Avon, England. The Hotel Jacaranda in Avon Park has its own history, having been visited by the likes of famous people such as Clark Gable and Babe Ruth.

8 Orlando

The Orlando area features everything from high-tech industry jobs to some of the top tourism attrations in the world.

7 Melbourne

According to Garden Communities Florida Blog, is has some the most affordable living costs in Florida.

Yes, there is a Bennigan's in Melbourne, Florida! It's the only one in the state!

6 Daytona

Beautiful beaches, miles of trails and one of the most well-known NASCAR tracks in the sport. Enjoy the waterfront dining at some of their iconic restaurants.

5 Palm Coast

Found between Daytona Beach and Jacksonville, it's an artist's haven with unspoiled natural beauty.

4 Tampa

West central Florida's center of everything. The Tampa/St. Petersburg/Clearwater area has it all. Downtown Tampa has become revitalized with the help of Tampa Bay Lightning owner Jeff Vinik. Other developing areas include Seminole Heights, a neighborhood that has turned into a popular area for new restaurants and businesses.

3 St. Augustine

Florida's oldest city. In fact, the county's oldest, continually established settlement. Art and culture lead the way in this town. Beautiful architecture that reflects its Spanish history can be found in this city on the northern Florida Atlantic coast.

2 Sarasota

Sarasota is one of the most popular places to retire, but there are more than retirees moving there. The beaches, the arts, the shopping at St. Armands Circle are just a few reasons people are drawn here.

1 Ocala

Long-time known for its equestrian sporting industry, it's considered the horse capital of the world. You can also see lots of Ocala in episodes of "On Patrol Live," as the Marion County Sheriff's Office is one of the agencies included on the live show.

There are also lots of activites to enjoy in and around Ocala, including Wildlife Safari Park and zipline adventures. You can find the longest zipline over water in the U.S. Ocala National Forest also boasts the most Florida black bears.
