We’ll reach freezing temperatures across the Tampa Bay area over Christmas weekend. However, not everyone will reach the same temps. Here’s a look at the forecast highs and lows for this weekend’s Tampa Bay freeze.
We’ll look around the Tampa Bay area from Citrus County south to Sarasota County. Here are the forecast temperatures from the National Weather Service. Let’s take a county-by-county look at the Tampa Bay freeze in 2022.
In Florida, you may still find a few on the beach when the temperatures drop. Boots and a coat with coffee may be the way to stay warm in the cold sand.

Citrus County
Crystal River, the northernmost city we’ll look at is in Citrus County. Friday’s high will be 62. Friday night into Saturday morning will plunge down to a low of 22. Saturday’s high will get back to 46, then back down to 25 Saturday night into Christmas Day. Sunday’s high will be back to 46 again, then a low of 28 Sunday night into Monday. The high Monday will be back to 55, Tuesday, 61, Wednesday, 66. Lows will continue to be in the 30’s.
Hernando County
Brooksville and Spring hill are in Hernando County. For Brooksville, Friday will be 64, and then when the cold comes in, the temperatures will drop down to 23 overnight into Saturday. Saturday will go up to 47, then back down to 26 Saturday night into Sunday. Christmas Day will go back up to 46 with another trip down to 29 overnight into Monday. A mostly sunny Monday will go back up to 55, then down to the mid-30’s overnight. Tuesday, up to 61, Wednesday will reach 67.
Spring Hill will be slightly warmer than Brooksville. In Spring Hill, the 66 high Friday will drop down to 27 overnight. Saturday will be up to 47, then the low will be 29 headed into Christmas Day. Sunday will reach 48, and then down to 32 in the overnight hours into Monday. Monday will reach 56, Monday night into Tuesday will go down to 38. Tuesday will go back up to 62, with a low of 42 into Wednesday, which will “warm’ up to 67.
Pasco County
Now, in Pasco County, temperatures may vary depending on your location. Starting from the gulf coast, Hudson. Friday will reach a high of 63, but it will drop to 30 overnight. Saturday will reach 47, and drop to 31 headed into Christmas Day. Sunday will reach 48, and the low will reach 35 headed into Monday. Monday’s high will be 55. The low into Tuesday will be 41, breaking out to 61 Tuesday afternoon. Wednesday’s high will reach 66.
A little south of Hudson in New Port Richey, Friday will hit a high of 64. Lows will reach 32 headed into Saturday. Saturday’s high will be 47, with a low of 31 headed into Christmas Day. Sunday, the high will be up to 48, with a low of 35 into Monday. Monday will reach 35, Tuesday morning will warm up from 41 to 61 for a high, and Wednesday’s high will be 66.
Now, inland, Dade City will check in Friday with a high of 65. Overnight, lows will plunge to 25. The high Saturday will be up to 47, and a low headed into Sunday will return to sub-freezing temperatures at 28. Christmas Day will reach 46, and then drop to 30 overnight. Monday, back to 55, and down to 37 overnight. Tuesday’s high will be 62 and Wednesday will reach 67.
Land O’ Lakes temperatures won’t be far off of Dade City, both being inland. Friday will reach 66, and then the low will be down to 28. Saturday will be back up to 47, and then down to 29 overnight into Christmas. Sunday will be up to 46 with a low down to 32 headed into Monday. Monday’s high will reach 56, with a low down to 38 on Tuesday morning. Tuesday, back to 62, and Wednesday’s high will be 68.
Pinellas County
In Pinellas County, we’ll take a look at Clearwater Beach, Clearwater, St. Petersburg, Dunedin, Safety Harbor and Largo.
Clearwater Beach will have a high of 68. Perhaps that will be nice for some northern visitors. The low temperature into Saturday will be down to 38. Saturday’s high will be up to 48, with a low of 36 headed to Christmas Day. Sunday’s high will be 48, and the low will be 38 headed to Monday. Monday’s high will reach 55, and drop down to 44 headed into Tuesday. Tuesday will reach 61, Wednesday will reach 66.
Clearwater’s forecast for Friday has a high of 68. The low for Friday night into Saturday will be 37. Saturday will reach 48 with a low of 35 headed into Christmas. Sunday’s high, 49, Sunday’s low headed into Monday, 38. Monday will reach 56, Monday night will be down to 44. Tuesday’s high will be 62 and Wednesday’s high will be 66.
St. Petersburg’s high for Friday, 66. Friday’s low headed to Saturday will be 39, with a high on Saturday will be 48. Saturdary night’s low headed into Sunday, 36, with a high Christmas Day of 48. Sunday’s low into Monday is forecast to be 40, with a high of 56 on Monday. Monday’s low into Tuesday is 46, with a high Tuesday of 61. Wednesday will have a high of 66.
The forecast for Dunedin has a high of 66 on Friday. Friday night will drop to 36, and Saturday will reach a high of 49. Saturday night will drop to 34, and warm up on Christmas Day to 49. Sunday night will go back down to 37 and warm up to 56 on Monday. Monday night will drop to 43. Tuesday will reach 62 and Wednesday will reach 67.
Safety Harbor will reach 68 on Friday and drop to 36 Friday night. Saturday’s high will be 47 and Saturday night’s low will be 35. Christmas Day will reach 47, and then slip to 38 overnight into Monday. Monday will warm to 55, Monday night will have a low of 44 into Tuesday. Tuesday’s high will reach 61, and Wednesday will reach 66.
In Largo, the temperature will reach 68 for a high. Friday night’s low into Saturday will be down to 37, and then warm up to 50 during the day. Saturday night will will be down to 35, and then warm up to 50 on Christmas Day. Sunday night will slip to 38 while Monday warms up to 56. Monday night will be back to to 43, and then up to 63 on Tuesday. Wednesday’s high will be 67.
Polk County
In Polk County, we’ll look at Lakeland, Bartow and Winter Haven.
Lakeland’s 68 high on Friday will give way to a 29 low headed into Saturday. Saturday will reach 48, then fall to 30 overnight into Christmas. Sunday will reach 47, then slip down to 34 overnight into Monday. Monday’s high will reach 57, and fall to 40 overnight into Tuesday. Tuesday’s high will be 64 and Wednesday will reach 68.
In Winter Haven, Friday’s high will be 69, and then the low into Saturday morning will be 32. Saturday will warm up to 48, and then fall to 31 overnight into Christmas. Sunday will reach 47 and fall to 36 Sunday night into Monday. Monday’s high will be 57. Monday night into Tuesday will fall to 42, then up to 64 during the day Tuesday. Wednesday will reach a high of 68.
In Bartow, Friday’s high will be 69. The low into Saturday morning will fall to 30. Then, Saturday will warm up to 49 before falling to 31 heading into Christmas Day. Sunday’s high will be 47 with a low of 35 headed into Monday. Monday’s high will be 57, Monday’s low into Tuesday will be around 41. Tuesday will reach 64 while Wednesday gets up around 68.
Hillsborough County
In Hillsborough County, we’ll focus on Tampa, Temple Terrace, Plant City, Lutz, Carrollwood and Apollo Beach.
Tampa’s high is forecast to reach 69 on Friday. It’ll then drop to 33 headed into Saturday. Saturday will warm up to 49, then drop to 32 heading into Christmas Day. Sunday will reach 49, and then drop to 32 again. Sunday night will slip down to 35, headed to Monday. Monday will warm to 58 and fall to 41 overnight. Tuesday’s high will warm to 64, Wednesday will warm to 69.
Temple Terrace is a bit further inland from Tampa. The high on Friday will be 67, and the low will drop to 30 headed into Saturday. Saturday will then warm to 47, then fall to 30 headed into Christmas. Sunday will warm to 46 and fall to 33 headed to Monday. Monday will reach 56, fall to 40 overnight, then warm to 63 on Tuesday. Wednesday’s high will be 68.
Plant City’s high on Friday will be 68. The low headed into Saturday will fall to 40, and on Saturday warm to 48. Saturday night will again fall to 30 headed into Christmas Day which will warm to 47. Sunday night will slip to 33 before warming to 56 on Monday. Monday night will fall to 39 before warming to 64 on Tuesday. Wednesday will reach about 68.
In Beautiful Downtown Lutz, the high on Friday will be 66. The low will fall to 30 headed into Saturday morning. Saturday will then warm to 47 before again falling to 30 Saturday night. Christmas Day will warm to 47. The low headed into Monday morning will be 33 before giving way to a mostly sunny 56. Monday night will fall back down to 38, and on Tuesday, the high will be 63. Wednesday’s high will be about 68/
Apollo Beach will reach 70 on Friday. Then, lows into Saturday morning will fall to 32. The high Saturday, 50. Saturday night will again fall to about 32 headed into Christmas Day. Sunday’s high will be 49 while Sunday’s low headed to Monday will be about 35. Monday will reach 58, Monday night, 41. Tuesday will reach 64 and Wednesday’s high will be close to 70.
Carrollwood area: Friday night’s low into Saturday will reach 31. Saturday, the high will be 47, then back down to 31 Saturday night. Sunday, Christmas Day will reach 46, and then Sunday night, back down to 34. Monday’s high will be back up to 56, then back to the 60’s Tuesday and Wednesday.
Manatee County
Moving a little futher south to Manatee County, let’s check out the forecast temperatures for Bradenton. The high Friday will reach 71, making way to the cold temperatures overnight into Saturday with a low of 36. Saturday will warwm up to 52 and fall to 35 Saturday night. Headed into Christmas, the high will reach about 51 before falling to 38 headed into Monday morning. Monday’s high will reach 58, slip to 44 over night and rise to 66 on Tuesday. The high Wednesday returns to 70.
Sarasota County
Sarasota County brings us Sarasota and Venice.
Sarasota’s high on Friday will be 72. Friday night will fall to 35, then warm to 52 on Saturday. Saturday night into Christmas Day, the low again falls to 35. Sunday’s high will be about 51, followed by a chilly 38 headed to Monday morning. Monday’s high reaches about 59 and will slip to 45 Monday night. Tuesday’s high will be about 56 and Wednesday’s high will reach 71.
In Venice, the high will reach 72 on Friday. The low will fall to 37 headed into Saturday morning. Then, the high for Saturday will reach 52 before slipping to 36 overnight into Christmas Day. Sunday, the high of 51 will give way to another chilly night, falling to 39. Monday will warm up to 58, and fall to 46 overnight. Tuesday will have a high near 66 and Wednesdsay will reach about 69.
