Former Lightning Forward Brian Boyle Diagnosed With Leukemia
Tampa Bay Lightning fans knew Brian Boyle as a giant, though a gentle one off the ice. The veteran player is a New Jersey Devil, and he was just diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia.
When doctors checked out Boyle’s blood test from his team physical made the diagnosis. The team’s doctor said that it is treatable with medication.
Boyle still plans to be on the ice October 7th when the New Jersey Devils kick off their season against the Colorado Avalanche.
