Day Care Owner Drugs Kids
A woman who abandoned children at her Bend, Oregon day care to go tanning has been sentenced to 21 years, four months in prison. January Neatherlin plead guilty to 11 counts of first degree criminal mistreatment and one count of third degree assault in connection with Little Giggles day care center, according to the Oregonian news paper.
Neatherlin told parents that the couldn’t pick up their children between the hours of 11am and 2 pm. That the three-hour period, she said was “nap time”.
Police found that Neatherlin would drug the children in her care with strong doses of melatonin before leaving the facility to tan, work out, and even drop her own kids off at school. Police say that Neatherlin’s scheme began to unravel last March when they were contacted by a former roommate and an ex-boyfriend.
