Better Nights Sleep in 4 Simple Steps
Having some trouble getting to sleep at night? Have you tried various supplements, both natural and chemical, yet something still seems amiss. Or maybe you just want to find a simple natural way to fall asleep.
Well according to Health Line, there are four simple things that you can do that is proven to help you fall asleep naturally. Take a look at the list below:
- Exercise. Even if you work out in the evenings. A new study had people do 30 minutes of high-intensity exercise a few hours before bed, and they were still able to fall asleep just fine.
- Get some sunlight in the morning. It helps your internal clock adjust, so you’ll get back to associating sunlight with waking hours, and darkness with sleep.
- Get more magnesium. Either in pill-form, or from eating things like broccoli, spinach, kale, nuts and seeds. It has calming properties that help you to sleep.
- Turn down the thermostat. There’s no single temperature that’s perfect for everyone. But studies have shown that most people sleep best somewhere between 60 and 68 degrees. That’s the sweet spot for producing the sleep hormone, melatonin.
The research was done by Charles Sturt University in Bathurst, Australia, and led by Penelope Larsen, a PhD student at the school of exercise science, sport and health. Its seems simple enough and certainly worth a try.
