Doggy Day Out
If you are an animal lover like me, you will certainly appreciate this program.
“Doggy Day Out” is a program developed by Friends Of Strays in St Pete, that gives you the chance to go on a field trip with a friendly shelter dog for a day, starting May 31st.
It’s goal is to allow everyone to enjoy a pet, while doing something nice for the shelter. It is also a nice break from the shelter for the dog and allows the shelter to receive feedback on how the dog interacts in certain situations, which may in turn help get it adopted.
Friends of Strays CEO, Dara Eckart says this about the program:
“We’re lucky enough to live in one of the most dog-friendly places in the country so we wanted to add a program to take advantage of that. Whether you’re just visiting St. Pete, live in a place that doesn’t allow pets, are considering adding a dog to your family, or just want to have a fun adventure with one of our dogs, Doggy Day Out is a way for everyone to experience the joy of a canine companion. Most importantly, it gives our dogs a well-deserved break from the shelter and gives us valuable information on their personalities to share with potential adopters.“
