St. Pete And Clearwater Looking At Driverless Buses
A bus that can drive itself may sound like something out of a futuristic movie, but it appears the future is here! And it’s coming to Tampa Bay.
Created a few years back by Navya, a France-based company, these mini buses seat as many as 15 people. Several cities across the world are already using them, including Las Vegas.
Both St. Petersburg and Clearwater are planning to test the mini bus for three months this summer and fall. And the city of Dunedin is close to approving a proposal to test them next spring.
Opinions are varied on whether this will be a good or a bad thing. Some feel the buses may actually created more congestion to some already very crowed areas, such as the proposed location of Main Street Dunedin.
So what is your take? Do you feel this will be a help to our cities or a hindrance?
