Tom Petty’s Ex-Wife Buys His Gainesville Childhood Home
Two months ago it was reported that a California real estate ‘superfan’ of Tom Petty put in an offer to buy Petty’s childhood home in Gainesville, Florida. It looks like his offer was turned down because according to The Gainesville Sun, Jane Benyo Petty the first wife of the late Tom Petty has purchased the home for $175,000.
Jane Benyo Petty now owns the house located at 1715 NE Sixth Terr in Gainesville right down the street from Tom Petty park. She says she has no immediate plan for the property but she is not going to turn it into a museum. She said she would like to leave the house to Tom Petty’s grandchildren .
