Breaking News: Hernando Schools On Lockdown
Reports out this morning that three Hernando County Schools are on lockdown after information was leaked of a firearm being sold on campus.
The schools placed on lockdown are Hernando High School, Parrott Middle School, Brooksville Elemetary School as well as the Hernando Schools District Office. They will remain on lockdown until a thorough check of the premises can be made.
Sheriff Al Nienhuis of Hernando County released this video update on the lockdown:
Reports say that a school resource officer was informed that a firearm was seen on campus. Deputies say that no one was threatened with it and that the report was of a possible sale, or some sort of exchange between two people.
Police responded to the scene and have two people in custody at this time. They are still investigating, looking for a third person possibly involved.
The schools remain on lockdown at this time.
