According to Deputies, Mayer was arrested for operating a 37 foot boat while going 73 miles per hour in the Slow Wake Zone of the Intracoastal Waterway. That is an EXTREMELY high rate of speed for the Intracoastal area.  

After crashing into the rear of the jet ski, Mayer’s boat then traveled up and over top of Krysztofowicz and his jet ski. Arrest reports note that almost three hours after the crash Mayer still had signs of impairment (or BUI), as well as an alcohol concentration .102 BAC (blood alcohol content). The sheriffs office reported that there was also a 9 year old child on Mayer’s boat at the time of the collision, which will add to his charges.

Mayer will face Vessel Homicide, Reckless Operation of a Vessel, BUI Manslaughter (Boating Under the Influence), Gross Child Neglect and Violation of USCG Navigation Rules.
