FDA Alert: Pet Food Recall
Bay News 9 says that the FDA has issued a nationwide pet food recall on cat food which may contain salmonella.
A Utah company (Go Raw, LLC) that makes and sells Quest Beef Cat Food, is recalling the two-pound frozen bags of this food due to the possibility of salmonella contamination.
The affected Quest Beef Cat Food products were sold nationwide and nationally distributed through retail stores and are identified with the following coding: UPC 6-91730-17101-8, Lot N128.
As a reminder, salmonella can affect animals eating the products and as well as humans handling the contaminated pet food. Pets affected with salmonella may show signs of lethargy, diarrhea, fever, or vomiting. Some pets may also have a decreased appetite and abdominal pain.
Anyone that may have purchased the recalled cat foot is urged to return the food to the place of purchase for a full refund. Anyone with questions can contact the company at 1-801-432-7478.
