We Went To The Local Ice Cream Shop On Yelp’s USA’s Top 100
Well, the great folks over at YELP have done it again. They’ve come out with another list of top 100 places to eat, and they got me to click all the way through to the bottom. This time the folks at YELP knew what they were doing to really attract my attention. No, they didn’t do the Top 100 Places to Eat in Florida, although I they’ve done that in the past.
This time they did the Top 100 Ice Cream Shops in the USA. The attention I gave this article was undivided.
Several locations in the state of Florida made a list, but the one that particularly caught my eye who is number 34. Ice Dreammm Shop in Lutz. The Ice Dreammm Shop also has a second location in Wesley Chapel. As soon as Isaw this, I immediately knew what I was going to do with the kids for the evening. We were going to get some ice cream!!!
Being on the YELP Top 100, my expectations were high.
The location in Lutz is on State Road 54, in the Canoe Commons Plaza. Now if you travel onState Road 54 often travel that road, you’ve probably driven by it 1000 times I never knew it was there. It’s on the backside of the shopping plaza, directly behind Big Apple Bagels. If I didn’t see a tiny sign that said ” ice cream” I would’ve passed it myself. Walking in. I almost got the feel like I was going to an ice cream speakeasy. It had a semi hidden storefront with a dimly lit interior.
All of the ice cream that they serve is homemade. As are there waffle cones and bowls. In addition to ice cream they also serve milkshakes. They are also known for serving alcohol infused ice cream.
My son got the “Cookies and cream” and my daughter got the homemade “PeanutButter and Oreo”. My wife went for her old standby “Mint Chocolate Chip”. Like the part-time lush that I am, I got the alcohol infused “Rum Haven”. The kids did what kids do, they devoured their ice cream and thought it was absolutely fantastic.
I will say my wife’s mint chocolate chip was extremely minty. More of a sharp mint, then a pleasant mint. She ended up not even half of it. And as far as my alcohol infused “Rum Haven” went, it was topped with toasted coconut I had it in a waffle cone bowl and it was absolutely fantastic. Unlike a rum, flavored ice cream you would get from the supermarket, you could really taste the alcohol and it made a very nice cold, sweet adult treat.
So we give a hearty congratulations to ice dream shop in lutes. Congratulations on being on yelp’s top 100 ice cream parlors in the United States list. Provided a very cool unique experience with some very good ice cream. We will be back again.
