The most expensive home in the U.S. is right here in Florida.  Pretty crazy when you think about all the expensive places you can live.  First, I would think that California would have the most expensive home, but that is not the case, it's right here in Florida.   Stinson Beach, CA, and Crystal Cove in California are the two most expensive neighborhoods in California. But think about all the other cities like New York City or even Hawaii.  There are very expensive homes located in some of these cities.

We know that Florida has some pretty nice neighborhoods.   Like in Miami, the most expensive neighborhood is Miami's Fisher Island, you also have Jupiter Island and Boca Grande just to name a few, but this home is not located in any of those areas.

The most expensive home is actually located in Naples, Florida.  I've been to Naples and yes, there are a ton of really nice homes there.  I love the area because most people who live there have money, so it's clean.   Homeowners keep their lawns and houses looking almost picture-perfect.   When you drive through neighborhoods, you can see how it's a very nice place to live.

This home, which was purchased in 1985 by John and Rhodora Donahue just went on the market for 295 million dollars.   According to the Dawn McKenna Group, the home is a 9-acre compound in Naples called Gordon Pointe.  It is your own private oasis located in the exclusive neighborhood of Port Royal which includes your own private beaches on the Gulf of Mexico.  The property includes a main house that is about 11,500 square feet and two guest houses, each over 5,000 square feet.

I can't even think about how cool it would be to live in a home this big.  My home in Florida is about 1,600 square feet.  So basically you could fit almost 7 of my homes inside of this one house.

Amenities

The website says you can easily fit 8 waterfront homes on this property.   The property is almost completely surrounded by water.  There is 728 feet of Beach frontage and 927 feet of Bay frontage for an incredible total of 1655 feet of water frontage.  It features a 111-foot T-shaped dock that can accommodate six boats and 9 garage spaces.  The main home has 6 bedrooms and 22 bathrooms.  Wow, I don't know about you, but that's a lot of toilets to scrub and clean.  By the way, before you plop down the $295 million, just know that the taxes are around $1,414,495 per year.  Ouch.
