Earlier this year, Avanti Travel Insurance named Tampa as the best cruise destination for families. Now it appears Tampa is becoming even more of a cruise attraction, with the Margaritaville at Sea cruise set to launch from here in June.

Specifically, Margaritaville at Sea will launch on the Islander cruise ship. Described as an off-shore resort, this cruise will go from Tampa and Palm Beach. At will sail to Grand Bahama Island, Mexico, and Key West.

"On this floating island vacation, you can unwind, enjoy the endless activities and entertainment, or just relax and soak up the sun," Margaritaville At Sea says.

In fact, Margaritaville has a significant presence in Florida. The Fort Myers resort opened earlier this year. Then, of course there's the well-known Hollywood resort, and one in Jacksonville.

Of course, at all of these, the Landshark Bar is a mainstay. On the cruise option, it will be three-stories of the ship. In addition, the ship is filled with the typical good vibe themes you will find at the resorts.

"Featuring two levels of shaded and seated bar areas and topped with the LandShark Lookout, this venue will offer unbeatable 360-degree outdoor views and serve as a prime spot for catching all the action on the big screen," That's So Tampa explains.

Port Tampa - Margaritaville At Sea

The fun begins this upcoming summer. Sailing from Port Tampa Bay, the Margaritaville At Sea aboard the Islander, will be a four or five night cruise. It will go to to Key West and Mexico. Room options include state rooms, balcony rooms and ocean view rooms.

Tampa Is A Cruise Capital

Of course, this fun new experience means you're departing the Tampa area, but along your route, you may see many ships bringing travelers in. Here is what Tampa has in common with Cozumel, Barcelona, Lisbon, and Turks and Caicos. These five locations are the best cruise destinations for families in 2024.

"With plenty of popular attractions with fun-filled activities to suit all ages, as well as its warm climate and beautiful beaches, Tampa is an all-round destination for a family cruise this year," Avanti Travel Insurance explains. Budget, family-friendly activities, and food options are part of what makes Tampa such an enjoyable cruise stop.

In fact, according to Avanti's report, Tampa was the only destination in the United States to make the best for families list.

Whichever option meets your travel needs this year, it appears Margaritaville's suggestion of it being your official "License To Chill" is applicable to both.

Florida Has 2 Of The Most Beautiful Bridges In The Country

According to Infrastructure Report Card, there are 617,000 bridges in the United States. Outlets such as Attractions of America and Mr. Hudson have each come up with lists of the most beautiful bridges. Two of them call Florida home.

A bridge can be a historical landmark in addition to a pathway that connects communities. Certain bridges, like the Golden Gate in San Francisco, draw thousands of tourists each year. People plan trips around visiting this site and taking in its incredible views. Unsurprisingly, the Golden Gate Bridge is either #1 or #2 on each of the aforementioned lists.

The bridge that it shares the top spot with is famous for its ability to walk or bike over. The Brooklyn Bridge connects Brooklyn Heights to Manhattan via six lanes. Many charity-driven bike rides also cross here as it offers unique perspectives into New York City without any tollways.

Florida Bridges

In Florida, American Road and Transportation lists over 12,000 bridges in the Sunshine State (though not all of them are in functional condition). There are two however, that stand above the rest. One is architecturally astounding. The other feels like a gateway into a mysterious paradise.

"American bridges are often designed with looks to match their engineering ingenuity," Mr. Hudson explains.

What's fascinating about bridges in America, is they are constructed of different materials and serve different purposes. For example, the final and tenth selection in Attractions of America's feature is the Benson Bridge, Multnomah Falls, in Oregon. This is a foot traffic bridge that is only 45 feet long. It allows visitors to walk 105 feet above the Lower Multnomah Falls cascade

Let's take a look at the two most beautiful bridges in Florida.

Sunshine Skyway Bridge, Tampa

Connecting St. Petersburg to Terra Ceia, this bridge is 4.1 miles long. This stunning bridge over Tampa Bay is often lit up with colors that highlight the skyline. Furthermore, since 2018, there has been a Skyway 10K race that closes the bridge each year.

Seven Mile Bridge, Florida Keys

This two-lane bridge is technically part of Route 1. It's a magical gateway into the Florida Keys. Mr. Hudson points out, "the Seven Mile Bridge usually has space for sightseers to park up and admire the Florida Keys." In 1982, a heavy renovation made the lanes wider, allowing for a safer and more comfortable drive. The last annual seven-mile bridge run took place this past April.
