Tampa Life Time Athletic Country Club To Open In June

A new Tampa Life Time club is scheduled to open in 2024. It will certainly stay true to its brand as a luxury style, athletic country club. This will be the seventh Life Time in Florida, but the first on the west coast.

"This Harbour Island destination will be entirely transformed into Tampa’s only luxury athletic and social destination," Life Time says about its new Tampa location, which is at 900 S Harbour Island Blvd.

If you are unfamiliar with what the Life Time experience entails, this fitness center chain certainly backs up their concept of luxurious fitness. Regardless of the location, they aim to be a safe haven where members can indulge in living their healthiest and happiest life.

Founded in 1992, Life Time now has over 170 athletic country clubs across the country. Across these, they have had 1.5 million members.

Of course, you will find some common fitness center amenities like a full weightlifting gym, cardio center, yoga, swimming, cycling, and instructor-led classes. However, they also partner with top exercise and wellness brands who offer their services within the facility. In addition, many have both an indoor and outdoor pool.

The most recent Life Time  to open was just this month in Brooklyn, NY. To give you an idea of what that new club offers they say, "The club boasts three floors of dedicated and airy spaces for its signature group training programs, Alpha, GTX, and UltraFit and brings Life Time's thriving Class Collection to life in its boutique studios with 60+ group, mind body and cycle classes offered weekly."

This new Life Time Fitness Tampa location is currently allowing interested members to submit information via a waitlist. In Boca Raton, memberships start at $229 per month. If you are 26 and younger or 65 and over, memberships start at $199 per month.

Most newer locations have a pickleball, basketball, group class access, sauna, steam rooms,  and clubs within the clubs, like a beach club. On-site child care is also an amenity that the club offers.

"Here you’ll find outdoor tennis and pickleball courts, a resort-like pool deck, expansive workout floor, and four boutique studios — 36,000 square feet, all dedicated to the pursuit of healthy living," Life Time Fitness says of their Harbour Island experience.

As a company, Life Time also has "living," "working," and "digital" divisions. As you would expect, these are apartment, co-working, and app-based training offerings. The closest Life Time Living complex is in Coral Gables.

According to Infrastructure Report Card, there are 617,000 bridges in the United States. Outlets such as Attractions of America and Mr. Hudson have each come up with lists of the most beautiful bridges. Two of them call Florida home.

A bridge can be a historical landmark in addition to a pathway that connects communities. Certain bridges, like the Golden Gate in San Francisco, draw thousands of tourists each year. People plan trips around visiting this site and taking in its incredible views. Unsurprisingly, the Golden Gate Bridge is either #1 or #2 on each of the aforementioned lists.

The bridge that it shares the top spot with is famous for its ability to walk or bike over. The Brooklyn Bridge connects Brooklyn Heights to Manhattan via six lanes. Many charity-driven bike rides also cross here as it offers unique perspectives into New York City without any tollways.

In Florida, American Road and Transportation lists over 12,000 bridges in the Sunshine State (though not all of them are in functional condition). There are two however, that stand above the rest. One is architecturally astounding. The other feels like a gateway into a mysterious paradise.

"American bridges are often designed with looks to match their engineering ingenuity," Mr. Hudson explains.

What's fascinating about bridges in America, is they are constructed of different materials and serve different purposes. For example, the final and tenth selection in Attractions of America's feature is the Benson Bridge, Multnomah Falls, in Oregon. This is a foot traffic bridge that is only 45 feet long. It allows visitors to walk 105 feet above the Lower Multnomah Falls cascade

Let's take a look at the two most beautiful bridges in Florida.

Connecting St. Petersburg to Terra Ceia, this bridge is 4.1 miles long. This stunning bridge over Tampa Bay is often lit up with colors that highlight the skyline. Furthermore, since 2018, there has been a Skyway 10K race that closes the bridge each year.

This two-lane bridge is technically part of Route 1. It's a magical gateway into the Florida Keys. Mr. Hudson points out, "the Seven Mile Bridge usually has space for sightseers to park up and admire the Florida Keys." In 1982, a heavy renovation made the lanes wider, allowing for a safer and more comfortable drive. The last annual seven-mile bridge run took place this past April.
