Where To Shop On Thanksgiving For Last Minute Supplies
It happens every year… Someone forgets an ingredient or runs out of something while cooking on Thanksgiving. Then you scramble to figure out what stores are still open and stocked. Not this year! We rounded up all the stores that are open and closed on Thanksgiving Day in the Tampa Bay area.
If you want to skip the cooking and cleaning this year, you can check out 5 great restaurants open for Thanksgiving by clicking here. Remember that these spots usually require reservations in advance. Or you can try preordering your dinner!
The biggest question for us is “Will Publix be open on Thanksgiving?” and the answer is no! Publix closes every year for the major holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas. So make sure you get all those last minute ingredients on Tuesday or Wednesday.
What Stores Are Open On Thanksgiving Day?
For last minute ingredients, you can go to 3 grocery stores: Whole Foods (Tampa, St. Petersburg and Clearwater will open 7 a.m. to 1 p.m), Fresh Market (7 a.m. to 3 p.m), or Sprouts (Open 7 a.m. to 2 p.m).
Most CVS and Dollar General locations will be open with modified hours. And Starbucks will be open for that pick-me-up before cooking or after your turkey trot.
If you’re looking for a non-traditional Thanksgiving activity before or after dinner, Busch Gardens will be open from 10a-10p. Scroll through the twinkling lights at Christmas Town or ride Iron Gwazi at night!
