Speakeasy’s have really gained popularity the past few years. We even have a few favorites in the Tampa Bay area like Madam Fortune’s and The Saint. But a new prohibition experience is taking over Downtown Tampa in 2025, and we can’t wait to check it out! Red Phone Booth is an exceptional prohibition experience featuring a turn of the century craft cocktail selection and exclusive cigar program.
If you’re looking for an interesting date night, keep your eyes peel for the Red Phone Booth next year. The dim lighting and classy ambiance will definitely set the mood. Red Phone Booth is an exceptional prohibition experience featuring a turn of the century craft cocktail selection, refined small plates, and exclusive cigar program. While the exclusive lounge is open to the public, part of the unique prohibition experience is that guests need a secret phone number from a member or local hotel concierge to dial into the restored London antique red phone booth to gain entry. This really ties into the 1920’s prohibition feel.
Each venue features a honey onyx bar, intimate fireplaces, custom Italian leather couches, and a Mafia Room for private events. In addition, you’ll find hand-painted ceilings with back lighting by renowned artist Christian Waggoner (Star Wars / Lucas Arts) as well as his fine art throughout the venues. The Tampa location will be the sixth Red Phone Booth location nationwide, with other locations in Atlanta, Nashville, Dallas, Miami.
Red Phone Booth is mainly a cocktail and cigar lounge, but they do offer small bites like authentic Neapolitan style pizza made to order. In addition to its extraordinary libations, Red Phone Booth also offers an extensive selection of 200+ cigars from the temperature and humidity controlled walk-in humidor. And you don’t have to worry of the smell of cigar smoke taking over the lounge. Red Phone Booth has a state-of-the-art ventilation system that completely cleans or replaces 100% of the air in the venue approximately every two (2) minutes.
The cocktail menu is filled with refined recipes of classic cocktails like the Aviation, which was inspired by the pilots of the early 1900s, the Aviation made its debut in the Hugo Ensslin’s 1916 publication – “Recipes for Mixed Drinks.” The perfect balance of Gin, Creme de Violette, Fresh Juice, Tart and Sweet.
While the Red Phone Booth lounge is open to the public, you can buy a yearly membership which gives you perks and access to events like exclusive tasting events where members sample flights of whiskey, bourbon, scotch or tequila and learn the spirits’ history from key leaders in the industry. Memberships are reciprocal at all locations and range from $400 (individual) to $7,500 (corporate), depending on the location, with packages in between. But again, you DO NOT need a membership to enjoy Red Phone Booth!
Red Phone Booth prohibition experience is going to be the go-to date night spot in 2025. Which means just like in the 1920s, you gotta dress to impress. So fellas, no cargo shorts or sportswear. And ladies, no flip flops or outfits with exposed undergarments.
In 2025, Red Phone Booth Tampa will occupy the first floor (7,053 square feet) of the Frontier building in downtown Tampa located at 610 East Zack Street. No opening date has been shared – yet. But we know we can expect to see them in the new year!
