Bucs Host 70 Hurricane-Displaced Military Families for Holiday Fun at Stadium
Five feet of water flooded through the Webb family’s home. Months later, Ahkeem and Jayleen still can’t go back because of mold that’s spread all over their walls.
For U.S. Air Force member Christopher Yeazel’s family, Storm Helene destroyed everything they had. They’re now living in a tight hotel room for the holidays, a huge change from their life on base. In their temporary home, Janell Yeazel wouldn’t let their situation ruin the holiday spirit. She brightened up their space with colorful tablecloths and patriotic flags.
“We can’t do what we do without them doing what they do each and every day, so this is just a small way for us to say thank you,” said Buccaneers COO Brian Ford to FOX 13.
The stadium filled with laughter as kids ran around, meeting Captain Fear and watching cheerleaders perform. Children kept busy decorating cookies while their troubles faded away for one special afternoon.
Trevor Baldwin, who heads Baldwin Group, watched as families found comfort in talking with each other. Parents shared advice while kids made new friends, finding moments of happiness despite their tough situation.
